All You Need To Know On Hinduism
One of the most frequent question I find myself being asked within the Twin Flame community is on Hinduism, which led me to write a comprehensive article on this. While this is geared for your general knowledge, you can also do some additional research on your own as well. Most Twin Flames feel drawn to these Gods and Goddesses for the simple reason being, they have a connection with them. Thanks to some well illustrated Oracle Cards, many are able to connect with them to make a deeper bond.

Kurma is depicted as a mixed form of human and tortoise. In order to obtain Amrit (the nectar of immortality), the Gods and demons started churning the Ocean of Milk. Vishnu took the weight of the Mount Mandara on his back so that it wouldn’t sink. Eventually, he also delivered justice by disguising himself as Mohini and taking the nectar from the demons and giving it to the Gods.
During the churning of the ocean, the ocean became poisonous threatening to destroy humanity so Lord Shiva, out of compassion, swallowed the poison, but he squeezed his throat to prevent the poison descending into his body. Because the poison was so potent, it changed the color of Shiva’s neck to blue, which gave him the name, Neelkanth.
Varaha is depicted as a boar with human body. When the demon, Hiranyaksha dragged the earth to the bottom of the ocean, Vishnu took the form of a boar and appeared to save her. He went deep down to bottom of the ocean, using his tusks to raise mother earth back to the surface.
Narasimha is depicted as half lion and half human. Hiraṇyakashup asked Brahma, “Let not death come to me either by man or beast, by day or by night, with a weapon either living or inanimate, indoors or outdoors, on earth or in the sky.” Brahma granted his wish and soon Hiraṇyakashup started creating havoc in heaven and on earth. One day, he decided to kill Prahlada, his own son who was the greatest devotee of Vishnu. To protect his devotee, Vishnu took the form of Narasimha who killed him at midday, under the arch of the doorway, with his claws, while he lay of his thighs.
Vamana is depicted as a dwarf Brahman. Bali, Prahlad’s grandson, had taken over the position of Indra, God of Heaven, by performing a sacrifice. The mother of the Gods called upon Vishnu for help. In order to help her, Vishnu took the form of Vamana, a dwarf Brahman. Bali welcomed Vamana and promised to give him whatever he wanted. Vamana asked for three paces of land measured by his stride. Bali agreed and Vamana turned into a giant and covered the earth with his first stride and heaven with the second.

Lord Rama born as a Prince, to keep his father’s honor, he gave up his throne and served fourteen years of exile in the forest along with his wife, Sita and younger brother, Lakshman. Ravana, the King of Lanka, abducted Sita, so Rama along with Hanuman and his army, killed the demon Ravana and saved Sita. He gave birth to Ramayan scripture.
Krishna is depicted as a cowherd born to destroy his uncle and demon King Kansa. He also played an essential role in the battle of Kurukshetra between the cousin clans Pandavas and Kauravas for the throne of Hastinapura. Through the battle of Kurukshetra, Krishna laid some of the philosophies as guidelines for life, the Bhagavad Gita.
When Yashoda looked inside Baby Krishna's mouth, she gasped as she saw the entire Universe..

Shiva is also the great ascetic, abstaining from all forms of indulgence and pleasure, concentrating rather on meditation as a means to find perfect happiness, while Goddess Parvati is the goddess of fertility, love, beauty, marriage, children, and devotion; as well as of divine strength and power.
Why Lord Ganesha Has to be Prayed First in Hinduism.
One day Goddess Parvati was at home on Mount Kailash preparing for a bath. As she didn’t want to be disturbed, she told Nandi, her husband Shiva’s Bull, to guard the door and let no one pass. Nandi faithfully took his post, intending to carry out Parvati’s wishes, but when Shiva came home and naturally wanted to come inside, Nandi had to let him pass, being loyal first to Shiva. Parvati was angry at this, but even more than this, at the fact that she had no one as loyal to Herself as Nandi was to Shiva. So taking the turmeric paste from her body and breathing life into it, she created Ganesha, declaring him to be her own loyal son.
The next time Parvati wished to bathe, she posted Ganesha on guard duty at the door. In due course, Shiva came home, only to find this strange boy telling him he couldn’t enter his own house! Furious, Shiva ordered his army to destroy the boy, but they all failed.
This surprised Shiva. Seeing that this was no ordinary boy, the usual peaceful Shiva decided he would have to fight him, and in his divine fury severed Ganesha’s head, killing him instantly. When Parvati learned of this, she was so enraged and insulted that she decided to destroy the entire Creation. Lord Brahma, being the Creator, naturally had his issues with this, and pleaded that she reconsider her drastic plan. She said she would, but only if two conditions were met. One of which was to have Ganesha brought back to life, and two that he be forever worshiped before all the other gods.
Shiva, having cooled down by this time, agreed to Parvati’s conditions. He sent Brahma out with orders to bring back the head of the first creature he crosses. Brahma soon returned with the head of a strong and powerful elephant, which Shiva placed onto Ganesha’s body. Breathing new life into him, he declared Ganesha to be his own son as well, and gave him the status of being foremost among all the Gods, and leader of all the Ganas, classes of beings, Ganapati.
Ganga
Story of how Shiva became Gangadhara. There was a King named Bhagiratha, and he did thousand years of penance to please Lord Brahma, for River Ganga to come to Earth. He wanted the Holy River Ganga to descend from heaven to Earth and release his 60000 ancestors from the curse of Saint Kapila, so that the dead people could rise to heaven.
After his successful penance, Ganga had to be released from Heaven to Earth, but Lord Brahma informed that no one would withstand the power of Ganga other than God Shiva, so Shiva received Ganga in his matted hair locks, and released her from His hair in seven streams, and thus became Gangadhara. The River is known as River Ganges today.
Sati
Sati determined to fulfill her destiny went to the Himalayas to meditate and appease Lord Shiva. Pleased with her devotion, he agreed to marry her at once.
All the Gods attended their wedding. Daksha did not approve of the marriage, but reluctantly gave his consent. After the wedding, Lord Shiva and Goddess Sati made Mount Kailash their abode and led a happy married life.
Daksha felt insulted as he had to accept a hermetic Lord Shiva as his son-in-law and decided to avenge his pride. Soon after, he organized a grand yagna (fire ceremony) and invited all the gods except Lord Shiva.
When Goddess Sati found out about the yagna, she was furious at her father. She requested Lord Shiva to participate in it, but he refused. Goddess Sati was determined to confront her father. She said, “I am his daughter, and he owes me an explanation. He cannot stop me from being welcomed to my own home.” Lord Shiva, sensing trouble, tried to stop goddess Sati, but she would not listen to any warning.
When Goddess Sati arrived at her father’s house, Daksha welcomed her coldly. He then proceeded to insult her husband in front of the guests.
Enraged at her father’s behavior, a furious Goddess Sati declared that she would not tolerate any insult of her husband. Invoking a sacrificial fire, Goddess Sati sacrificed herself.

Goddess Kali
Lord Brahma granted the boon to Raktaveeja that for every drop of his blood that fell on ground hundreds of demons like him would be produced. Thus, the only way of slaying Raktaveeja was by not allowing even a drop of his blood to fall on the ground. Thereby Kali pierced him with a spear and drank all his blood as it gushed out.
It was time for Kali to begin her victory dance among the demon corpses. By now, She was drunk from Raktabija’s blood and the effect it had on Her caused her to dance wildly. As She danced, She threw Her head back and again filled the skies with her shrill crackling. Her terrible laughter drew the attention of the Gods who then came to see the outcome of the battle. They watched as she weaved in and out between the bodies of the demons. As she went, she snatched up tokens of victory. From the demon hands, she created a belt and from their heads, she fashioned a garland, which she wore around her neck. Her dancing grew more and more frenzied as she slipped into a trance. Her feet pounded out destruction with each step upon the earth.
Soon the demon corpses were reduced to mush, yet Kali continued dancing. It seemed as though nothing would stop Her, and again the world was on the verge of collapse. Something had to be done, and soon. The Gods begged Shiva to intervene and calm Kali before it was too late. Shiva then laid beneath her and she stepped on him as she calmed down.
Lord Hanuman
His devotion to Sita-Ram as he opens his chest. He is 11th Rudra of Lord Shiva. Some say he is Shiva’s incarnation; others say he is Shiva’s son, created by his seed. Legend is that Shiva missed Lord Vishnu so much that he incarnated as Hanuman to be with him so that he can help him kill Ravana. He is considered one of the most powerful Hindu Deities. As a child, he swallowed the Sun thinking it was a fruit. Then the Gods pleaded with him to spit the Sun out.
A sage cursed Anjana, a beautiful Angel in celestial palace of Lord Brahma that the moment she fell in love, her face would transform into a monkey. Lord Brahma thought of helping by allowing her to birth on Earth. Later, Anjana fell in love with Kesari, The Monkey King and they both married each other. Being an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, she continued with her meditation to please the God. Lord Shiva was impressed and she wished Shiva to be her son so that she would be freed from the curse of the sage.
Few days later, King Dashrath was performing a yagna (fire ceremony) after which the sage gave him kheer to feed all his wives. A portion of Kausalya his eldest wife’s kheer was snatched by the wind who flew all the way, where Anjana was meditating. Lord of the Wind Vayu, aka Pawan on the signal of Lord Shiva laid kheer on Anjana’s hand. Anjana ate it and thus gave birth to his incarnation, Pawan Putra Hanuman, the Son of Wind.
